After the Tsunami many people lost many things, fisheries community also lost everything. They needed quick support to rebuild and start their living standard. The Galle Development Foundation helped for it. The program funded by Inter Religions Peace Commitment Foundation. Through that we provided 25 fishing boats and nets for them. The support we really effected to increase their life because they could develop their life through it.
The program implemented in the year of 2004. The program implemented within several steps. First donated 10 boats and nets for the fishermen and as second step we provide 15 boats and nets. The project area was Galle, Dodanduwa, Hikkaduwa. The organization got the recommendation from the Government Agent and the Village officer of the areas. Through their recommendation we provided boats for them. The transparency was very high and we monitor about the program properly.
